The stock traceability feature will help you to manage products having serial numbers and expiry dates.
If you are interested by its use, please contact us at help@boostmyshop.com.

MyFulfilment, in its initial configuration, allows the  management of products stock levels in each warehouse separately.
When the stock traceability add-on is enabled, each product stock in a warehouse will be divided into different sub-stocks : "sources".

There are 2 types of sources manageable by the stock traceability add-on : "Serial numbers" and "Lot numbers".

Note that lot and serial numbers aren't supported by the mobile app !

Type of sources

Serial numbers

This type of source should be assigned to products only having a unique number (serial number) allowing to identify them.
For example if you are selling phones, each product will have its own identifier (IMEI).
You will be able to define for each source of type "Serial" a serial number, its quantity however will always be 1 maximum (as serial numbers should be unique).
This implies that a same serial number can't be assigned to 2 different sources, even if these 2 sources are each one assigned to 2 different products.
The fact that their maximum quantity is 1 implies that :
  1. No ingoing stock movement creation will be possible on this kind of sources when they have a qty of 1
  2. No outgoing stock movement creation will be possible on this kind of sources when they have a qty of 0

Lot numbers

This type of source should be assigned to products grouped by lots, having each one a lot number and an expiry date helping to identify them.
For example if you are selling food products, their stock level will be composed of differents lots. You will be able to define for each source of type "Lot" a quantity, lot number and expiry date.
This implies that a same lot number can't be assigned to 2 different sources in the same warehouse.
However, a same lot number can be assigned to 2 different sources if they are assigned to 2 different warehouses.

Assign a type of source to a product

The type of source assigned to a product will be called "traceability mode".
To assign a traceability mode to your products, you can use the mass action is available at the top-left corner of the Products grid.
Simply select from the grid products you want to change the tracking mode for and use the action "Change traceability mode" :

Then,  select the tracking mode to assign in the "Mode" drop-down :

Finally click on "Submit" to save the changes
This mass action can only be used on products having 0 physical quantity in each warehouse they are affected to.
The reason is simple : once a product get a traceability mode affected, its stock management logic will totally change following explainations from the "Concepts" section above.
We have so to make sure that all products getting a traceability mode assigned have no existing stock not yet fully affected to lot / serial sources.

Once a traceability mode has been assigned to a product, it will be displayed in the product page :
